Using Picture Books to Teach QAR (Question-Answer Relationship)

Course Description:
The presenters will use quality picture books to teach the QAR comprehension strategy. This activity allows the reader to use visual clues and listening comprehension for practicing the cognitive tasks  of identifying in the book (literal) information and in the reader's head (inferential) information to answer comprehension questions. Using picture books is a scaffolding technique for comprehension instruction.
