KEYNOTE: Skills for Growing (K-5) Skills for Adolescence (6-8) Presenter Provided by Lions Quest International Description: Lions Quest is a global positive youth development and prevention program of Lions Club International. Since 1985, Lions Quest has become a world leader in life skills, character education, prevention and service learning. The training produces significant and recognized results. It teaches resistance to negative peer pressure, assists in developing a positive classroom, provides students with communication tools to resolve conflicts in fair, non-violent ways, demonstrates and instills an appreciation for diversity, and uses community service to foster civic responsibility. Participants will receive training and all the materials necessary to begin this curriculum within the classroom. Skills for Growing has 6 topics with 24 skills building lessons. Skills for Adolescence has 8 topics with 102 Skills Building Lessons. The Character Education Partnership has recognized Lions Quest curricula as a school-based program with scientifically demonstrated student outcomes. |
