Central A & M Institute Session Information Kindergarten/1st Grade Smartboard Incorporation Everyday uses of the SMART board in a Kindergarten/1st Grade Classroom will be discussed. The session will focus on everyday ways to incorporate the SMART board in a Kindergarten/1st Grade Classroom to enhance learning. Presenters: Sara Boyer and Christina Suhl, Sullivan Elementary School Audience: Elementary grades K-1, any subject *************************************************************** Step Up Primary Get your kids to “step up” and use the SMART Board in creative, interactive ways. This session will teach you how to incorporate the most active SMART Board moves. Music, videos, animations and many more motivating lesson ideas will be included. (Make it/Take it in the Computer Lab) Presenter: Debbie Potsick, Bond Primary School, Central A & M Audience: Elementary grades K-2, any subject *************************************************************** Step Up Intermediate Get your kids to “step up” and use the SMART Board in creative, interactive ways. Edmodo for classroom use will also be discussed. Presenter: Renee Oldham Audience: Middle grades *************************************************************** Focus on Special Education This session will focus on how to use Smart board applications for students with special needs, especially in co-teaching and resource room settings. Presenter: Linda Kirby, Charleston High School Audience: Special Education, all grade levels *************************************************************** SMART Coaching (As Opposed to Dumb Coaching) This session will focus on how coaches of all sports can use SMART technology. Ideas will be provided for how teams can use SMART for pre-game preparation and post-game assessment, from learning plays to reviewing performance. Suggestions will be provided on ways you can use SMART video features to improve results in your athletes. Presenters: Chad Carroll and Todd Rork, Central A& M High School Audience: Middle school and high school coaches, any sport *************************************************************** Smartboard Basics – Beginners This session is truly the basics of the Smartboard. We will cover the Smartboard itself, including the care of the board as well as the tools that are available in Smart Notebook software. We will also discuss how you can utilize this software to enhance instruction in your classroom. This session is geared for those who are just beginning to use a Smartboard or haven’t started using one yet. Balloon Pop, Pull Tabs, Vortex Sort, Timeline Reveal ????? Discover how easy it is to engage your students using the Lesson Activity Toolkit. This session will focus on using the flash file templates found in the Lesson Activity Toolkit. Classroom applications for these tools will be shared. Have a daily or weekly activity that could use a bit of an update? This session will focus on using SMART Board tools and gallery items to create competitions and games that will enhance student involvement.
